Our team is staffed by Certified Arborists, together having over 100 years of experience in the tree care field!
As Certified Arborists we have been trained in the art and science of tree care. Most of our staff are Certified, or working towards becoming Certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). ISA certification includes passing an exam that covers various aspects of arboriculture, including tree biology, pruning, soil management, pest control and tree risk assessment.
To maintain certification, Arborists must obtain CEU's (continuing education units) to stay up to date with the latest tree care research and practices.
Hiring a Certified Arborist ensures that your tree work is done safely and according to best management practices.

About the Owner
Royal Oaks Tree Care, Inc. was founded by our owner and president, Christian Dagenais after he had worked in the landscape industry for over 12 years. Previously owning Wheaton Landscape Specialists, Inc. he saw a growing demand for tree care service providers in the western suburbs that delivered excellence in every sphere of the industry. And did so in a way that was ethical, sustainable and trustworthy by their clients. As the effects of the Emerald Ash Borer spread through northern Illinois, Christian's landscape clientele began inquiring as to what could be done to protect their trees. In an effort to serve as an all inclusive point of contact for the landscape and tree care needs of his clients, Christian began attending training courses, specifically for plant health care to understand the treatment options and processes for Emerald Ash Borer. Wheaton Landscape Specialists, Inc. soon thereafter began offering these treatments to its clients. Christian became certified as an arborist in 2013 and fell in love with all things trees. Over the next several years, Wheaton Landscape Specialists, Inc. added more tree care related services to its offerings including proper tree pruning, and removal when necessary. In 2019, Christian decided to brand a new venture that focused on excellence in tree care and most importantly, positively impacted its team members and clientele. Royal Oaks Tree Care, Inc. was born and continues to "raise the standard" of service in the industry by intentionally developing its people and growing a team that is driven to have a positive impact

Arborcare Man
Sales/Senior Vice President
As a second-generation Arborist who has been working in the tree care industry since 1983. I became an ISA Certified Arborist in 1997 and previously held certification as a Tree Worker Climber Specialist. Since 2008, I've been heavily involved in Plant Health Care, with hands-on experience diagnosing and addressing a wide range of tree disease and stress-related issues.
Proper tree pruning has been a constant part of my life—not just something I do for a living, but a craft I truly respect and take pride in. I’m deeply passionate about Arboriculture and genuinely enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge, whether that means helping a homeowner better understand their trees or mentoring others in the field.
Being part of Royal Oaks Tree Care gives me the opportunity to meet with you personally and really talk through what’s going on with your trees. I’m not a salesman—just an arborist who cares about doing things the right way. It all starts with trust. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, understand what’s really going on with your trees, and know that I’ll only recommend what’s truly needed to keep them healthy and strong for years to come.
